Wondering what to do with the kids during the Christmas break? Oakville has many activities you can enjoy with them that won’t break the family piggy bank. Here are a few ideas that will help to keep the kids busy and happy that you can enjoy, too.
RBC Skate in the Square
Sharpen up your ice skates. Towne Square in Downtown Oakville has a synthetic ice rink where you can take the kids for a skate no matter how warm the day happens to be! How cool is that?
RBC is hosting this free skate which began in November and runs to February 28, 2016.
Coyote Howl
You and the kids can ring in the New Year a little early at Bronte Creek Provincial Park at 1219 Burloak Drive in Oakville. For the price of the regular park admission, you can participate in an early countdown to the New Year at 8:30.
If you come early enough, park staff will teach you all about coyotes and how to howl. Then join in a coyote howl to see if you can get a response from these fascinating critters!
While at the park, rent some skates and enjoy the outdoor Olympic-sized staking rink. You can skate to music and warm up by a campfire. The rink closes at 9:30 p.m.
Snow White – A Holiday Pantomime
Tickets are only $25 for this performance of Snow White that starts today and runs to December 27, 2015 at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts on 130 Navy Street in Oakville.
The whole family will enjoy watching as Snow White and her friends escape the evil plans of her wicked stepmother.

Vitaly Beckman is a Vancouver magician and illusionist widely renowned for his amazing talents. Every illusion he performs is his own creation.
Crafts at the Oakville Museum
For $5 per child you and your child can spend an hour making a craft at the Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate, located at 8 Navy Street in Oakville. Adults must accompany and assist their child.
After craft making, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the museum. Event times are as follows:
December 29, 2015 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm
December 29, 2015 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm
Every session makes the same craft and takes the same tour.
