Polarized lenses for sunglasses are meant for the purpose of reducing glare from direct and intense sunlight. The main aim of polarized lenses is to protect the eyes of the person wearing such shades. Polarized lenses are very popular and are used in quite a few designer sunglasses today. Different colored polarized lenses are used for different functions based on the visibility and way in which they allow light into the eyes.

The most popular color shade for polarized lenses would be black, of course. However, there are a number of other colors that people wear due to certain preferences. Here are a few of the colors available and the different uses and functionalities they have. Their functionalities are based on the different colors that they filter out or allow in.

Gray Polarized Lenses for Sunglasses

Sunglasses that come with polarized lenses that are gray in color are very commonly used. This is because they ensure glare reduction without compromising on visibility much. They are also effective in different scenarios and sunlight intensities. The gray color allows the wearers to see objects around them without any loss in coloration.

Also, gray is a very mild color and ensures that the eyes do not get fatigued easily. Sunglasses with gray polarized lenses can be kept on all day long and cause hardly any fatigue to the person wearing the glasses. These polarized dark glasses work best in situations where there is a lot of sunlight. They are perfect for beach wear and tropical locations in the holidays.

Different Colored Polarized Sunglass Lenses

Copper Polarized Lenses for Sunglasses

Polarized lenses that have a copper colored tinge prevent unwanted blue light from entering the eyes, but allow other colors of white light through its filter. This lets the person wearing them see other colors with improved contrast. Copper polarized lenses are commonly used for people who take part in activities like shooting, fishing and even hiking. They are great for spotting objects against green colored backgrounds.

Moss Colored Polarized Lenses for Sunglasses

This greenish-yellow tinge in polarized lenses works extremely well during the early mornings or evenings, when there is comparatively less light. While they are great for most activities, including hunting, shooting, cycling and fishing, it is advisable that they are not worn in extremely sunny climates. If there is a lot of bright light, these lenses tend to allow the light inside a little more than most other colored polarized lenses among different sunglasses.
