Spinach, broccoli and various other green vegetables help improve your eyesight. These foods are rich in anti-oxidants that are required mainly by your eyes. By consuming ample amounts of leafy greens, you are regenerating the supply of these anti-oxidants in your system, improving your vision.
Garlic
Apart from being a great ingredient to add flavor in food, garlic is also very healthy. It is beneficial to your vision, blood flow and immune system because it enhances the production of antioxidants in your body. The sulfur content in garlic is responsible for protecting the eye lens.
Avocados
There is more lutein in avocados than in most other fruits. Lutein is beneficial to the eyes because it helps reduce the chances of getting cataracts or other eye-related diseases. Avocado is much like spinach. In case you prefer one over the other, you can substitute these in your diet.
Dark chocolate
Most people do not really need an excuse to have dark chocolate. It is delicious as it is. Additionally though, dark chocolate is rich in flavonoids, which helps your eyes by protecting blood vessels present in them. Flavonoids also strengthen the cornea and the eye lens.
Fish
Fish has a lot of health benefits. Salmon, cod and tuna especially contain high amounts of omega 3 fats. These are good for you because they help enrich your brain. By benefiting the brain such, the omega 3s in fish help improve your vision. If you do not eat fish, you could consider taking omega 3 supplements.
Nuts
Nuts are rich in omega 3 fats as well. If you cannot incorporate fish into your diet, you could have almonds, peanuts and cashews regularly. Nuts also help prevent dry eyes and age-related eye diseases. Carry some with you so that you can have them on-the-go.
