Contact Lenses or Glasses – Which Is Better? With summer fast approaching, many people are at risk of facing sun related issues. Apart from the intense heat, you will be facing so many other health issues.

Your eyes which are highly sensitive, will be facing trouble. If you wear contact lenses, you will be facing more trouble during the summer as you will have to protect it from the harmful UV rays and sunscreen stings.

You will also have to be careful while swimming as the lenses may come out if water comes in contact with it. To escape from all these difficulties, just follow these tips:

Wear sunglasses

This might sound weird as you have opted for the contact lenses to keep away from glasses, but in summer, to protect your lenses, you should wear sunglasses. Wearing sunglasses has numerous benefits when you are exposed to the sun.

Wear contact lenses with UV blockers

If you do not want to wear sunglasses, then at least go for the contact lenses which has UV blockers as it will protect your eyes as well as your lenses from the sun’s harmful rays.

Go for disposable contact lenses

Disposable contacts are very useful as you do not have to maintain it, it remains moist all the time and it is a lot more hygienic.

Choose a sunscreen lotion very carefully

It has been found that some sunscreen lotion creates an itching sensation in the eye, if it comes in contact with the lenses. So, wash your hands after applying the sunscreen and talk to your dermatologist about other options if the itching continues even after you have tried all the brands available.

Do not sleep with your contact lenses on

This is a very simple tip, but still many people do not give much attention to it and finally realize their mistake when their eyes start to hurt badly the next day.

Use your glasses once in a while

To keep your eyes healthy, it is a good practice to wear your glasses ever now and then, as your eyes can always use a little break.

Do not get into water with your contact lenses on

During summer, you will naturally go for a swim and take frequent showers, but be careful to take off your contact lenses before going into the pool or a bath and always keep the contacts moist.
